NuGene International has added two recognized doctors to its advisory board, further expanding its knowledge base in dermatology and microsurgery.

Dr. Vivian Bucay, of San Antonio, Texas, has been featured as a skin expert in several publications, including Allure, Cosmetic Surgery Times, Elle, More, Shape, Prevention, and Good Housekeeping. She has been featured as a keynote speaker across the globe on a wide scope of topics ranging from innovations in facial aesthetics to neuromodulators to cancer survival.

Dr. Bucay is certified by the American Board of Dermatology and serves as a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Physician Assistant Studies of the UT Health Science Center San Antonio. She is recognized nationally for her expertise in minimally invasive facial rejuvenation through the combined use of neuromodulators, injectable dermal fillers, and skin resurfacing. Considered to be one of the pre-eminent dermatologists in the country, Dr. Bucay’s credentials span a wide scope of biomedical research, patient care, and medical education.

“I was very happy to be selected to NuGene’s advisory board,” stated Dr. Bucay. “I have a strong interest in skin rejuvenation and recovery after my personal battle with stage 4 melanoma, and I am passionate about my philosophy that beautiful skin starts with healthy skin.”

Also added to the board is Dr. Mark Kobayashi, who specializes in aesthetic surgery that includes all areas of plastic surgery including reconstructive and microvascular surgery. His microsurgical expertise is used to recreate a breast following cancer with free tissue transfer. He is a widely published author of medical journal articles and is Associate Clinical Professor of Surgery at the Aesthetic & Plastic Surgery Institute of the University of California, Irvine.

“As a science-based cosmeceutical company, we are extremely focused on building our knowledge base in all areas relating to our current and anticipated product lines,” said NuGene CEO Ali Kharazmi when announcing the selections. “We have an excellent team of advisors and these two individuals represent the caliber and talent of the people we look to for advice and industry knowledge.”
